About Hasek's Heroes
Hasek's Heroes was founded by Dominik Hasek with the mission to provide underprivileged youth in Buffalo the opportunity to play hockey for free. We supply all necessary equipment and training, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent kids from enjoying this amazing game. Through our programs, we not only teach hockey skills but also instill important life lessons such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.

How Your Participation Helps
By participating in the Dominator's Breakaway Challenge, you directly support Hasek's Heroes. The funds raised from this event will go towards:
- Providing hockey equipment for the kids
- Covering ice time and coaching costs
- Expanding our programs to reach more children
- Ensuring the sustainability of our free hockey programs
Our Mission
To introduce the joy of ice skating and hockey to all children, regardless of their financial circumstances. We are committed to removing the barriers that might prevent young athletes from experiencing the thrill of gliding on ice and scoring their first goal. We believe in providing access to the sport of hockey, regardless of financial barriers, and nurturing a love for the game that will last a lifetime.

What Sets Us Apart
Inclusivity: Hasek's Heroes is for everyone. We warmly welcome boys and girls of all backgrounds and skill levels. No prior experience is necessary. If your child has a desire to learn and have fun, they're in the right place.
Equipment Included: We provide all the necessary equipment for your child to participate in the program. We believe that every child deserves a chance to play, and we're here to make it happen.
No Participation Fee: Our program is designed specifically for families who may face financial constraints but still want their child to enjoy the sport. There is absolutely no fee to participate in Hasek's Heroes.
Learn to Skate and Learn to Play
Our Learn to Skate program is the first step in your child's hockey adventure. It's designed to introduce the fundamentals of ice skating, ensuring that they feel comfortable and confident on the ice.
From there, they'll transition seamlessly into our Learn to Play Hockey program. Here, they'll discover the thrill of handling a hockey stick, passing, shooting, and embracing the team spirit that makes this sport so special.
Becoming HEROES: Inspiring Leadership, One Letter at a Time
At Hasek's Heroes, we're not just teaching skating; we're shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Our skaters will earn a letter on their book to spell out "HEROES." These letters represent the qualities of true heroes and leaders:
- Week 1: H - Helpful
- Week 2: E - Engaged
- Week 3: R - Responsible
- Week 4: O - Optimistic
- Week 5: E - Exemplary
- Week 6: S - Strong
Our passionate coaches will infuse these qualities into each practice, guiding participants to embrace them both on and off the ice. As skaters demonstrate these attributes, they'll earn their HEROES stamps. By the program's end, their books will proudly display the complete set of HEROES letters, symbolizing their journey towards becoming not just skilled athletes, but true heroes and leaders in their own right.
